Please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?

I have always found myself using my influence to help others, and through God’s grace my influence, knowledge, and expertise have grown over the years. I am, and have always been very active in the Church, which drastically helped me with communicating, teaching, leading, and identifying and meeting needs. Through high school and college, I used my skills, however, I found great comfort in just being in the background, not necessarily using my gifts to my optimal level. In the last several months of my undergrad journey, I had a very transformational experience, which caused me to be intentional about my growth, and leadership. That path led me to attend seminary in Atlanta, GA, which later led me to pursue my Doctorate in Strategic Leadership. After I graduated with my doctorate, I started my pursuit to walk alongside leaders and their organizations to provide leadership development coaching and consulting. We all have blind spots and I use my expertise to assist leader’s identity blind spots so they can be in a position to lead effectively.

Dr. Jonathan, what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from others?

-I love working with leaders and their teams to come up with strategic and customized ways for them to succeed.

-I am a coach and use my coaching skills to help pull out the greatness in leaders.

-What sets me apart is my ability to quickly understand areas of growth and clearly and expeditiously curate personalized solutions so organizations can thrive. There is no “cookie-cutter way” to lead well.

What is “failure” and “success” for you?

To me, a failure is an event that occurs that didn’t go as planned. Nothing more, nothing less. It is simply an event. However, learning from our “failure” positions us to succeed. To me, success is a state of being, in which an individual is truly happy about what they have accomplished, but more importantly, who they have become.

We’d love to hear more about your work.

Leadership is the key to success in every area of life! Hence the reason why my passion for developing leaders is vitally important to me. Unfortunately, many people do not value leadership development. However, better leaders will result in better families, a better government, better businesses, and eventually a better world. Hence the reason I love empowering people to first realize that they are a leader, in their own right.

What excites you right now?

Right now, I am hitting various obstacles in my businesses and it is one of the major things that both frustrates and excites me. It excites me because it is an indicator that growth is present.

What ONE thing would you like for our readers to take away from this feature story, about you?

I would like leaders to realize that they have influence, which makes them a leader. Secondly, I would like for your readers to value their role as a leader and become intentional about their leadership development.
