A new book authored by Andrea Stephenson and her son, Corban, features 50 fun projects to help children and parents remember the scientific contributions of Black people

Best-selling author, Andrea Stephenson, along with the help of her six-year-old son, Corban, has written her sixth book entitled Our-Story Black History for Kids: Scientists. The book has over 50 fun art projects, science experiments, and STEM DIY projects to help children and parents remember the scientific contributions of Black people.

Andrea believes that Black history is important because it instills pride and confidence in children. She experienced this as a 9-years old girl when her older brother and sister-in-law developed a program called Our Story 101. Its purpose was to teach kids Black history and the contributions of Africans to our world.

Andrea started exposing her son, Corban, who co-authored the book, to Black history lessons when he was just 3-years old. To make it fun, she used story-telling and hands-on activities such as games, art, and play to expose him to this information.

Corban’s enthusiasm encouraged her to share this information with other parents and children through this #1 new release book that is now available on Amazon.

It tells the story of 12 Black scientists and their contributions to our world. Each story takes the reader from the scientists’ early life to what they did to make a difference. After each story, there are fun projects designed to keep children’s interest and reinforce the main ideas of each story.

As an added bonus, you will see references to Corban’s YouTube channel, Corban’s Fun Learning Adventures, after some of the stories. Corban and Andrea share science experiments, DIY projects, and learning games for kids weekly.

Andrea wants parents and children to get inspired by the information in the book and think of the infinite possibilities they have in life. She hopes it encourages children to be innovators and change our world for the better.
