Community SpotLight: Ki Edwards Is Changing Lives of Those Experiencing Hair Loss Due To Illness

The American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) notes that 80 million men and women in America have hereditary hair loss (alopecia). It can affect just the hair on your scalp or your entire body. Although it’s more prevalent in older adults, excessive hair loss can occur in children as well.

According to HealthLine.com, Medical conditions that can cause hair loss include thyroid disease, alopecia areata (an autoimmune disease that attacks hair follicles), and scalp infections like ringworm. Diseases that cause scarring, such as lichen planus and some types of lupus, can result in permanent hair loss because of the scarring. Even due to chemotherapy.

Compassionate business owners of Salon Wygs located in Birmingham, AL, Shannon and Ki Edwards, understand personally how hair loss can have a negative impact on men and women!

Shannon and Ki Edwards are giving away FREE makeovers to those who are experiencing hair loss due to illness, through the production of the Ki Runway.

The Ki Runway is a hair show catered towards men and women undergoing hair loss due to chemotherapy, alopecia or terminal illness. The goal is to change lives through makeovers, laughter, fun, music, vendors and more. The Ki Runway will be held at the Davis Theater Auditorium in Montgomery, AL, November 11, 2018 before a crowd of stylists, barbers, clients, friends and family. It will be hosted by Mr. Palmer Williams Jr. also known as Floyd from Tyler Perry’s House of Payne.

“On this day, we will offer transformations to those who are ill and show how wigs and male units are helping them”, says Ki Edwards

Proceeds of The Ki Runway are going to breast, sickle cell and lupus foundations. The models who are receiving the FREE makeovers are living with these illness.
