Women of Momentum 2026

Women of Momentum 2026, an inCity Magazine editorial initiative documenting the women whose leadership changed what became possible

Documenting the women whose leadership changed what became possible.

AN INCITY MAGAZINE EDITORIAL INITIATIVE

Women of Momentum 2026 recognizes 26 women across regions, industries and forms of leadership whose decisions, work and influence produced meaningful commercial, institutional, civic or community movement during the year.

Two additional women will receive Legacy Honors recognizing sustained bodies of work whose influence extends beyond 2026.

The editorial focus is not visibility or popularity. It is documented movement.

The 2026 profile series begins October 6, 2026.

Momentum deserves a record

Some of the year’s most consequential leadership cannot be understood through announcements, titles or public appearances alone.

It can be found in the decision that changed an institution’s direction. The partnership that brought previously disconnected organizations together. The investment that created access or capacity. The structure that allowed other people and communities to move forward.

By the time an outcome becomes visible, much of the leadership that produced it has already occurred.

Women of Momentum exists to document that work.

Each profile examines not only what an honoree accomplished, but the judgment, responsibility and architecture behind the movement she created.

The 26

The 26 recognizes women whose leadership produced meaningful movement during 2026.

Their industries, responsibilities and operating environments differ. So do the scale and form of their work.

Some created new infrastructure. Some strengthened institutional capacity. Some expanded access to capital, opportunity, education, healthcare or public participation. Others made decisions that changed the trajectory of a business, organization or community.

What connects them is that something moved because they accepted responsibility for moving it.

Each member of The 26 receives an individual editorial profile documenting the work, decisions and impact that shaped her 2026 momentum. Together, the profiles create a broader record of women whose leadership changed what became possible across organizations, institutions and communities.

Legacy Honors

The Women of Momentum 2026 Legacy Honors recognize two women whose influence cannot be fully understood through the events of a single year.

These honors document sustained leadership, infrastructure, institutional influence or bodies of work that continue to shape what is possible for others.

Legacy recognition is distinct from The 26. It reflects enduring contribution rather than a single year of momentum.

What the profiles examine

Women of Momentum profiles are developed through editorial intake, reporting, clarification and factual accuracy review.

Each profile considers:

  • The movement created during 2026
  • The decisions and responsibility behind the outcome
  • The people, institutions or communities affected
  • The infrastructure, access or capacity created
  • The broader significance of the work
  • What is now possible because of the honoree’s leadership

The result is more than a recognition announcement. It is an editorial record of consequential leadership.
